peacockblue.com's guidelines for submitting work

Starting with the new December issue, Peacockblue offers free high quality fiction, poetry, nonfiction, in the genres of erotica in both audio and text format. That's right Peacockblue will be making audio recordings of selected submitted stories and poetry to this story website. This is double exposure for budding and established erotic writers and poets!

Audio will be available to podcasters and will contain author's credits so make sure you include that in your submissions.

Remember, erotic themes can be anything from subtle to provocative. Originality, exploring new styles of writing, character development and atmosphere when story-weaving are key elements.

NO SEX WITH MINORS! Although we realize that minors have sex often long before they reach the age of maturity, it is illegal to depict this in literature. So, we will not promote sexual stories with persons under 18 yrs.

NO SNUFF OR BESTIALITY! Death is okay, such as vampire pieces, but i don't want to see sadistic torture scenes for the purpose of snuff.

NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT! Do not steal the works of others. Although this should be common sense, you'd be amazed how often it happens. And, as well as pissing off the respective authors/artists, it will give you very bad karma, and it is illegal. That means you could pay a hefty fine for stealing someone else creation. All creations must be your own.

NO FIFTEEN YEAR OLD PENTHOUSE POSERS! Sorry. We realize young people have erotic fantasies. But, you must be 18+ to submit to Peacockblue.

Content: Explicit sexual imagery is preferred, but not necessary. Writing must be sensual, pro-sex, thoughtful, emotion-provoking, dimensional and intelligent. No particular restrictions on profanity. We accept submissions from around the globe, but they must be written in English.

Length: Fiction should be 900-2500 words. Flash Fiction and Audio Stories which will fall in between 100-800 words. Poetry any length.

Send stories and poetry in the body of the email--because of recent virus attacks attachments will not be accepted and the email will automatically be deleted. MAKE SURE you put PEACOCKBLUE SUBMISSION AND THE TITLE OF YOUR WORK IN THE SUBJECT LINE or the email will be deleted by my spam filters ( i get over 2000 emails of spam per day!)

Credits: Please include a 150 - 250 word Bio as well as email and/or url links. You don't have to be a published or professional writer, artist or photographer to submit, but if you are, please include your professional credits. Please include your full name, pseudonym (if applicable) and mailing address. Also include a statement declaring that you are the author of the piece being sent and that you have in no way plagiarized another's work. Submissions not including this criteria

Simultaneous or Previously Published Material : Previously published work accepted if noted when and where, although we prefer previously unpublished material. WE DO NOT ACCEPT SIMULTANEOUS SUBMISSIONS.

Response Time: Each submission will receive a confirmation receipt within a 2-3 weeks from the editor. If you do not hear back from us by then, please send a query as your submission may have been lost, misplaced, or not received. All submissions are personally replied to with explanations as to why/why not they were accepted or rejected.

Compensation: I am not offering monetary payment for submissions accepted for publication in Peacockblue.

Editorial Policy: We hold the right to edit all accepted submissions, please spell check and grammar check any work submitted. (Why? because I am awful at it and it will save us both headaches).

Note: We ask for a three month exclusive web publication for accepted works: print mediums and personal web sites notwithstanding. We accept reprints. WE DO NOT ACCEPT SIMULTANEOUS SUBMISSIONS.
