My Silent Soul

There is this tree I know of
So tall and strong
His leaves proudly swaying in the wind
I visit him often
Just sitting close by
And leaning against him
Reading a wonderful book
Or writing beautiful poems

There is this tree I know of
He knows all that is about me
My anger
My pains
My love
My joy
Most of all he knows my tears

There is this tree I know of
That shelters me from the rain
And holds me so close
That I could forever feel his love
>From back then when we first met
Till now when we are so far apart

There is this tree I know of
Standing strong in unknown lands
A single leaf he never sheds
Aye, alone he is
For I knew him once
But in this life
I fear that we are forever separated
Like the sun and the moon...
The sky and the earth...

There is this tree I know of
Enlightened in his years
Far beyond my comprehension
But when I look around
To all the wildness of the forests
That surrounds my soul
I know that he is among them
Silent and strong
Watching me from afar
Awaiting my enlightment

There's this tree I know of
His shine far brighter than any stars in the Heavens
A warmth only an enlightened one
May cast upon our aching hearts

There is this tree I know of
That found me
And shed his leaves all around me
Wrapping me within the only form
Of love that he knew...
