I will recover from the horror
I have seen, of how no one
Should live, let alone someone
I so dearly love.

It will take time before I am
Reconciled to the truth of
Choices and change,
To the lies of faith and danger

I will do my best to hold my
Silence from here and then on
These things I do not want to
Be true, are now nothing but

I will recover from the horror
I participated in, lived with
And desperately want to forget
Fighting memories that remain
