Light My Fire by Dale DotyRenaissance E Books Reviewed by Kevin R. Tipple
A fundamental requirement for erotica is for the work to be arousing. While I understand that not everything will appeal to all people, a writer has to strike some sort of balance. When a novel quickly becomes so repeatedly disgusting that the reader feels like he is going to throw up, all sense of arousal is lost. That is exactly what happened here and this novel is full of some of the most disgusting scenes I have ever read. The novel opens with Kasmira Mabe, a woman that wants to be dead. Her husband has been dead three years and while very well off financially, she is buried in a deep depression. She hopes that her three pursuers, two males and one female, will kill her and free her from her misery. She begins to think it will happen after they tie her to a table and whip her unmercifully. They are not happy that she does not have much cash on hand and take it out on her rear. After being whipped repeatedly, she is forced to perform a blowjob on one of her captors before being bound again and fucked by the other male captor. So far, not great stuff, but not that bad either. However, things quickly turn downhill. Kasmira is forced to perform oral sex on her female captor who happens to be in cycle. This is disgustingly detailed along with bestiality and the eating of excrement. Things continue to worsen and I will spare you the gruesome and offensive details. What could have been an arousing novel quickly goes downhill by the middle of chapter two with lots of the same still to go. While I recognize that someone, somewhere, may like this sort of thing, I hope they stay very far away from me. Not only was the fire put out, it was put into cold storage as far as I am concerned. Unless you are seriously into extreme acts, I would strongly urge you to avoid this disgusting novel.
